This work addresses venture structure and scope, strategic positioning, governance considerations, and the assumptions and constraints that shape long-term outcomes. Engagements are typically undertaken at very early stages or during periods of significant transition.

Strategic Direction

Strategic direction services provide independent input on priorities and directional choices. This work supports founders and organisations when multiple strategic paths are possible, trade-offs are unclear, or alignment is required before commitment. The focus is on direction-setting rather than operational execution.

Viability and Risk Evaluation

Viability and risk evaluation involves critical assessment of feasibility, assumptions, and structural risk. Abyss Ventures works selectively with founders. Engagements with startups are structured formally on a paid or equity-based basis and focus on decision-level input rather than ongoing advisory or mentoring arrangements.

Across all services, engagements are independent and external, scope and intent are defined upfront, work is time-bounded and focused, and informal or unpaid arrangements are not undertaken.
